you can understand why mitt romney spent his draft eligible years writing love letters to ann in france. it might be worth a pound of questions about how he avoided serving during the war. they've even got him talking about health reform in that's again. conservatives are so scared of him losing as badly as he's losing, they are not even squawking about it as they did when he talked about romney care last month. they are trying to make people dislike their candidate less. and then thurston strikes again. >> he pulled me in, he tied up the boat for me, he rescued me just as he's going to rescue this great country. >> at the national level, fairly or not, voters say they regard mitt romney as somebody who doesn't care about working people, who doesn't care about them. it is a lot for the campaign to overcome and they have not got much time. even if you ignore the early voting and give yourself a dead line of 39 days before the national election, they have to work on that. at the local level the romney campaign does not have the luxury of doing what the obama folks has now, working on turn

this the first is mitt romney has been net unfavorable the entire year. so as people have learned more about mitt romney it just reinforce the fact that he's not popular. that's what you saw with the complete tailspin that he's in over calling veteran seniors and students victims and people he doesn't care about which obviously that happened a couple of weeks ago. that has really driven parts of these numbers. it's not just that he's unable to stay on a message. the message that he's on is not something that people like. middle class voters don't blame obama for the state of the middle class and for the state of the economy. he's the least likely to get blamed compared to corporations, president bush and congress and so on. and when they look at mitt romney's positions, or the positions he says in public or the positions he says in private like on the video, he's showing that he's just not interested in the middle class, he's not fighting for the middle class, he's more interested in the wealthiest. his own surrogates are saying best thing about mitt romn
